BICOFLEX

Bicoflex is designed to shield and block radiation and x-rays. Until the development of Bicoflex these shields contained toxic lead. Shielding aprons are used in nuclear medicine as radiation protection for vital organs and during x-ray procedures. A common example is the lead apron that is used in dentist x-rays. Similarly, shielding mats of BICOFLEX can be used as temporary flexible shields in nuclear power stations during maintenance work. They can also be used during decommissioning of nuclear facilities and during reclamation work on contaminated buildings.
